Office Lighting

The Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE 1994 Lighting Code) recommends that the lighting of an Office environment be arranged to give between 300 to 750 lux on the task surface (see Technical). As with all lighting schemes, this illuminance will gradually decline from installation, due to;

• The accumulation of dirt on the lamp
• The accumulation of dirt on the luminaire (housing and reflector)
• Lamp life

Regular maintenance to the fitting interior, the reflector and the lamp will extend the efficiency of the design.

Initially a FREE survey of your lighting system will be carried out. This will include an assessment of the age of the installation, as well as the quantity, location, and the type of fittings installed. Lux level readings will also be taken. This information will enable us to advise you of the current status of the system, and allow us to form a proposal for a programme of the maintenance measures necessary to maintain it to its maximum efficiency.

A typical programme for an office installation of standard recessed modular fittings, of 5years standing that has received little or no maintenance would be;

All lamp changes will be carried out using Osram, Phillips or a similar quality lamp.
